Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley: Get Involved
Here's the deal
Have some questions? We have answers.
Q: How much time is this going to take? My schedule's pretty tight.
A: All we ask for is 1-2 hours of your time per week.
Q: Is there training or anything? I don't really know anything about ESL or where to start.
A: Yep, there sure is! We will have a one hour training/information session at Newman Library.
Q: Where will the tutoring sessions be held?
A: Right here at Newman Library!
Q: As hard as I try and study, I'm so bad at learning new languages, do I have to speak other languages?
A: No worries, all you have to be is fluent in English!
Make a difference!
Want to volunteer?
Calling all tutors and volunteers!
Want to make a difference in your community? Come volunteer at the new adult ESOL program that offers English conversation groups. These conversation groups serve as a place to learn English through discussing various topics of interest.
Our goal is to help foreign born adults achieve economic, educational and life goals through learning English as a new language.
