Information and resources related to neurodiversity and neurodivergence

Neurodiversity and using this guide

Neurodiversity is a paradigm that acknowledges that different people's brains function in different ways, and thus we may need different conditions to help us succeed in learning, working, and living our lives.

The pages of this guide are designed to familiarize you with the basics of neurodiversity and neurodivergence, provide resources for supporting neurodivergent students and employees and neurodiverse teams, as well as further resources to continue your learning about neurodiversity.

This guide is created and maintained by the neurodiversity working group of the VT University Libraries Belonging and Wellness Commission.

Some sections could still use more information and we welcome community contributions. If you have feedback or suggestions, please contact Nathaniel Porter (ndporter@vt.edu)! Thanks!
