Kayla's work spans designing and creating various types of open educational content, coordinating and supporting instructional design projects within the Libraries, designing and facilitating the Libraries' Usability Testing Program, and managing the Libraries’ Media Design Studio B. This Studio functions as the home of the Usability Testing Program--which analyzes a wide range of content supported or created by the University Libraries--as well as a space for the Virginia Tech community to create digital media of all kinds. In these roles, she draws on her formal instructional design, pedagogy, and project management training as well as her teaching and user testing experience to address the changing needs of the Virginia Tech campus community. In all areas related to instructional content and design, Kayla values and encourages open collaboration and open pedagogical principles.
