Zhiwu Xie

As Virginia Tech Libraries' Chief Strategy Officer, I promote the strategic alignment of the Libraries’ existing and new projects with the university’s mission, and in particular, the Destination Areas (DAs) and Strategic Growth Areas (SGAs). My main responsibilities include strategic plan development, execution, monitoring, and goals attainment as well as advising the Dean and Assistant/Associate Deans on strategic directions and coordinating inter-divisional collaborations. I also direct special projects and explore reinvigorating the Center for Digital Research and Scholarship as a platform for advancing the University Libraries’ faculty- and staff-based research.
