Research Data Management Assistance at Virginia Tech: Contacts

How We Can Help

We are happy to advise and assist researchers in adoption and adaptation of best practices for the management of research data. Expert guidance on developing and implementing data management plans starts by contacting us:

  • As Data Management Consultant and Curation Services Coordinator, Jonathan Petters provides research data management planning, training, and curation support to researchers across Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University through the University Libraries. Previously Jon served in a similar data management role at Johns Hopkins University with the university’s Data Management Services group. Jon holds a PhD in Meteorology from Penn State and researched aerosol-cloud-radiation interactions in shallow cloud systems. Jon was also an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science, where he investigated data management policies and needs within the physical sciences.

  • Andi Ogier, Assistant Director, Data Curation Unit
