Formatting and Style Guide

Recording, transcribing, and sharing oral histories is a useful way to document history. Recording oral histories is a skill set taught by faculty in public history within the history department. If you need to know how to conduct or record an interview, the history department should be consulted. This guide focuses on how we approach transcribing oral histories. Our methods are based on those from Baylor University's Institute for Oral History.
