Pop Up Teaching

Bringing digital literacy education right to YOU

Today more than ever, learners and educators alike are struggling with limited bandwidth and competing priorities for their time and attention. Looking for new and sustainable ways to promote digital literacy learning, our team set out to explore teaching beyond the library classroom.

What is pop-up teaching?

Pop-up teaching is bite-sized learning activities that meet students where they are. This approach is about taking the best and most flexible learning activities from the classroom to students in the library, on the street, or at the coolest campus event. Adding pop-up teaching to our digital literacy program slate has increased instructor satisfaction, interaction numbers, and learning diversity.

Example pop-up topics: Fact-checking and misinformation, generative AI impact, representation in media, digital decluttering, and digital well-being.
