Serials Unit: Home

The Serials Unit is responsible for purchasing new materials in varying formats and verification and processing for payment all renewals for ongoing contracts for print and online journals and electronic database collections. Processing orders as recommended by liaison librarians, inputting orders into the library catalog so that the status in the catalog will read “New Order”

The Serials Unit is also responsible for making sure online access is available for E-Journals, Databases and E-Book packages.  Also responsible for check-in for the print Journals that are still being received and claiming missing issues.

Serials Unit also works on Journals that are no longer working or are having access issues. We currently have an email set up for Reference Staff/Students to notify us of access problems. eataccessproblems@vt.edu
