Becoming a Professional III: Additional Tools for
Finding Information
Many databases provide email and RSS alerting services (also called current awareness services) to highlight new content as it is added to the database. These kinds of alerts can be more useful than publisher-based alerts when your research topic is covered across multiple journals or is multi-disciplinary.
JournalTOCs
- JournalTOCsJournalTOCs provides a single access point to RSS feeds of new tables of contents from over 10,000 scholarly journals. You can search or browse for journals, then follow them to receive their feeds. You can also export your selected feeds for use in your favorite RSS feed reader. Note that the links to articles in these feeds probably will not work outside the campus network.
