AIAA
The AIAA publishes books, journals and conference papers (often jointly with other engineering societies). Individual conference papers are published within conference proceedings for specific conferences, and are also part of the AIAA paper series. The AIAA paper series contains most papers presented at AIAA conferences, with each paper being given an AIAA Paper Number. Because of the dual publishing format, (paper series and conference proceedings), AIAA paper citations may be received in either of the two forms.
ASCE
The main publications of ASCE are journal articles (contained in ASCE journals), conference papers (contained in ASCE conference proceedings) ASCE books, and ASCE standards. The University Libraries subscribe to online access to the ASCE journals, conference proceedings, books, and selected standards.
ASME
The main publications of ASME are journal articles (contained in ASME journals), conference papers (contained in ASME conference proceedings), ASME books, and ASME standards. The University Libraries subscribe to online access to the ASME journals, conference proceedings, and books. We do not subscribe to a comprehensive set of ASME standards, but we do have a print copy of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
ASTM
ASTM publishes ASTM Standards as well as journals, manuals, and the ASTM Special Technical Publications.
MSDS
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) contain data about the properties of a product. While MSDS contain information helpful for consumers, their primary audience is not consumers, but employees who work with hazardous materials. Employers are required to have a MSDS in the workplace for each hazardous material employees work with. If Company A sells a product to Company B, and the employees of Company B will be working with the product, then Company A is required to provide a MSDS for the product to Company B.
NACA and NASA
NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) existed from 1917 - 1958, with NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) existing from 1958 - present. Both have produced huge amounts of literature. Some of the earliest literature is still being used by researchers and students.
SAE
The Society of Automotive Engineers publishes technical papers and engineering standards.
