Vet Med Library Information: Document Delivery

This page and corresponding tabs provide information about the Veterinary Medicine Library's resources, policies, services, etc. at Virginia Tech

Desktop/Document Delivery

If you are a student, staff, or faculty member of Virginia Tech, you can use Interlibrary Loan to request desktop delivery of book chapters and print articles from the University Libraries collections. The item will be scanned and sent in an electronic format. This is particularly helpful for obtaining scans to articles published pre-2000 in sources that do not have online access to those years of publication.

Electronic copies of articles and book chapters not owned by the University Libraries can also be obtained through Interlibrary Loan for Virginia Tech affiliated patrons.

Use your PID/password to log into the system; first-time users will be presented with a screen to create their profile in ILLiad.

Submit your request (or check on the status) through

Once your request has been processed, you will receive an email that alerts you to log into your ILLiad account to retrieve the scanned material(s).  Items will be held in the ILLiad system for 30 days before deleted (once you download from ILLiad onto your own device, it is yours to keep indefinitely).
